Attended by nearly 400 people over the two days.
The Friday event welcomed arts and cultural organisations from across London, as well as Brent based artists, to find our more about Brent 2020 and opportunities get involved.
Attendees heard from Carolyn Downs, Brent Council’s Chief Executive, Brent 2020’s Artistic Director Lois Stonock and the GLA’S Assistant Director, Culture and Creative Industries. The event was brought alive by South Kilburn’s exceptional talent poet Just-Ori, J-Unity and Makeda Moore and the Vybz singers.
Other Granville tenants who were able to contribute to the success of the event included London Basketball Association, K2K Radio, Saucy Soca and VPop Voices. The Granville was dressed with carnival outfits from this year’s Notting Hill Carnival winners Mahoghany, who are based in Harlesden.
The Saturday event reached out to the wider community of interested residents, stakeholders and Brent organisations to find out more and to take part in the co-design process for shaping the major projects planned for 2020.
